So are we going to get this name changed... ideas?
"The CF Construct bored at work blog"
First thing that came to mind. However, I am currently not bored, I'm actually working my ass off today and am out of town for the evening so I had to make this one short.
Also, I am wondering if we need posts on the weekends? Not as many people seem to read the post on the weekend. Also, lets get more authors too. I wonder if any of the coaches would like to post.
Tom, what do you do? Yatta and I were talking about it yesterday. She said you are an eye doc and I think you are a pharmacist. :)
Dayo, maybe it won't be too cold by the time you make it back to Chi. Your trip sounds awesome!
I was also thinking that it is time to change things about the blog. No offense, but the posts are getting less and less interesting and I think that is because the authors are getting burned out. I know I for one am. If we could get more authors or have less days per week where there has to be a blog post, it would be very helpful. It is definitely time for re-vamping of the blog. If we are going to link it to the main blog then we need to get on it.
Derek and I have been working out the integration of the blogs - slowly. This blog will actually NOT-EXIST and authors will post directly to the CF Construct Blog once Derek provides permission to the volunteer authors. I get that this is moving slowly and it is probably my fault b/c I am not at the Box so if someone else wants to play Project Manager, as I have said before, just say so.
In the meantime, we need to find out WHO would like to be an author. So, anyone that currently posts, anyone that visits this blog, anyone that comments on this blog, anyone that has nothing to do with this blog and wants to volunteer to post on the CF Construct Blog - send me an email: rlbashkin@hotmail.com
I will collect this information for now and I will forward the information to whomever decides they want to take ownership of moving this process along. Good?!
also, doubtful ill be at the box tonite, my workout last nite only exacerbated this f-ing stomach ailment. and i want to be well for tomorrow's festivities.
@camey, i am neither an eye doc or a pharmacist. i am currently an MD/PhD student who is in training to become an "eye doc". for lack of a better term, i am a professional student.
also, with regards to the blog, i think we should drop weekends unless something big is happening, party, team wods, etc. that will allow the weekend people to post during the week taking some burden off of others. also, we should change the name and invite all at the box to post.
Regarding the blog: -I'm glad to hear this will get integrated with the Construct blog. We need to get more people participating and I think most people probably don't know this place exists.
-Not to fuck with you guys further (because I've been taking enough jabs at you all as of late), but once we do that, there needs to be more good advice and ideas and less crying/whining/begging for help. No one is going to get more involved in an online community if the people in charge are using it to try and sort through their food and body issues. Everyone here has been at this for 9 months, so either sort your shit out or stop talking. I don't want to hear any more about how poorly you think you ate, how frustrated you are at hitting a plateau, how you're injured and you don't know what to do, etc. If you have a question about something or need help, it should be a posted in the daily comments, not the focal point of the day's discussion.
Regarding Saturday: -Jenn and I are hitting a party at a friends place, it is on Clybourn a couple blocks North of Costco. It is with a few friends of our who are a ton of fun and very welcoming to new people, so if you're interested, let me know. We'll be at the box tonight and tomorrow. Planning on hitting the party in the early afternoon. I'll be drinking so I'll be in a good mood and less of a dick.
@Thom....I was RIGHT! I knew you were an MD/PHD AKA BEAST! I just wasn't sure about the eye doctor part:) I have a buddy in the MD/PHD program at WI and he hates it....he has been a student forever. lol. Kudos to you!
@Drywall...I hate to admit this, but I agree. I think it became a lot of pressure to have something every week to post about. If there are more authors and less posting days, then hopefully we will have more posts of substance. I think we started off well, but just kind of burned out. Will you be contributing to the new blog?
@Camey...I am down for some Bucktown fun and checking out Drywall's party if time permits. This is my first Chicago St. Patty's day, so I really want to see how the city celebrates:)
step down from your pedestal for once, sorry we are not all elite at exercising.
i disagree with your above sentiment to some degree. first, good advice stems from the raising of pertinent issues. second, we are a community and are suppose to be offering help/advice to others...maybe just not psychiatric help. third, from a marketing standpoint, yes, it would look terrible to divulge our issues on the homepage, and yes, individual issues should be raised in the comments section. Yet, as for injuries, hand-care, hitting plateaus and overcoming them, nutrition, etc...i believe those all to be relevant topics.
@Drywall...I will be with Camey and following the LP Barcrawl schedule that I posted to the blog yesterday. Facebook me your phone number....I don't think I have it.
@Wubben....damn I am a bandwagon hoe, because now I am rolling with wubben. lol. I also think that even though it may have seemed like we were at times airing a lot of personal issues, it allowed us to get to know one another:) Care bear hugs all around:)
Interesting site for fitness related articles: http://fitmarker.com/
Found that through referral links, someone linked to me. It is like a Digg or similar site, it just links to fitness and health related stuff. Lots and lots of interesting stuff that's relevant to the stuff we talk about.
To jump in on the esteemed Yatta's suggestion, you all better get your fit little asses to the LP bar crawl. I can guarantee a ridiculous lack of sobriety. xoxo Em
P.S. Since this appears to be the blog entry for it, my wrist hurts and my diet sucks. Fix me, please.
Ha! What about CF Construct Blog?

I will do it Rae.
ReplyDeleteDrywall, I always feel like I just had my hand slapped when you post something.
Anyone interested in staying around Bucktown tomorrow?
Thanks, Camey!

Bucktown is between our home and the party we're going to, so we'll be headed through there on the way back. Where will you be?
