Please Hurry Spring!

I can't wait for spring and summer! Even though it is still way too freakin cold, the sunshine over last few days is really brightening up my mood. February and March are usually the hardest months for me. I am tired of being cooped up and want to be outdoors. And I have the typical Chicago pasty white complexion that begs for just a little sun. So I have signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle and Warrior Dash so I have something to be excited about. I am also thinking about the Tough Mudder and Metro Dash. Anyone interested?

What helps you guys get through the last lingering and oh-so-painful months of winter? What races and events do you have coming up?

  1. The only problem with the weather getting nicer is we have to start up all that stupid running again...

I'm in for Warrior Dash and Metro Dash. Jenn and I are considering Tough Mudder, that one appears to be the Hero WOD of obstacle races.

I'm more interested in trying to find some more CrossFit centric events, like the Fight Gone Bad philanthropy or anything else that involves...(wait for it)...not running.

  3. I'm doing both Warrior Dashes... possibly the other two you mention. Also the 13.1 and a couple other.

Personally looking forward to it so I can take James in all of the wods involving running and pullups ;)

  4. ahh running, how i missed you. got some good 400m workouts in while i was in the philippines. but fuck was it humid. and what have we learned from crossfit everyone...when it gets hot, shirts come off...as you can imagine, i scared some filipinos.

    no races for me.

i went to the 9am today...got my ass kicked. working out on your own doing modified crossfit wods is nothing like doing dbone's programming. james, i expect you to destroy this one.

  5. @Anderson - Running WODs don't count as real men don't do 'cardio'.

@TDub - I got real excited when I read today's WOD. I love days when you don't have to use your legs. Globo!!!

  6. I would like to do more CF events. I really liked the FGB last year. Even thought I couldn't decide if I wanted to pass out or throw up.

James, let me know if you and Jen sign up for the Tough Mudder. That would be a fun one.

  7. I'm signed up for the Shamrock Shuffle! Assuming I am cleared by then, I plan on running!...in some sort of Green attire :)

  9. @camey, most definitely...i actually had lofty thoughts of going back in tonite to do the endurance workout, but with my jet lag, i thought better of it. i am going to start again next week. i figure my internal clock will be back on track by then.

@drywall, your genius (please, someone help him get his ego through the door tonite, maybe open the garage door?) never ceases to amaze me. "kipping presses"?...brilliant!
