Concoctions!

Do you have any food mixtures that are quick, easy, and actually taste awesome?

I need more, give them to me!

I don't know about you, but I'm getting a lot more work lately and prepping food is starting to get harder.

Yesterday I took about 2lbs of chicken breast, popped it in the slow cooker, then took two jars of natural salsa verde and poured it in. Let it sit for a few hours on high, pulled the chicken, put it back in and then promptly destroyed it all an hour or so later.

Later I took a second attempt at "protein pudding" and finally succeeded. Basically just mixed together a bunch of protein powder, a packet of sugar-free Cheesecake jell-o, and cold almond milk. Stuck it in a blender and let it chill out in the fridge for a few hours. Recovery pudding is the best pudding.

Sorry, but the caveman in me is going to have to take a backseat - I am in love with cheesecake.

  1. john, im with ya. making food has been terribly difficult this week for some reason. so im going to take my first attempt at paleo, extra meaty, chili this weekend. figure i can get lots of work done while that shit simmers in my never-used crock-pot.

as for cheesecake, i hate that shit.

pudding, though, i love. especially, snack packs.

kelsey, im going to try paleo granola too, just i bought mine with the rest of my paleo kit for my travel in a month because im "busy", i.e. too GD lazy to make it myself.

  6. I think it all sounds really yummy! What kind of protein powder did you add to the cheesecake?

I need someone to teach me how to use a slow cooker. Is that the same thing as a crock pot? I have had one for 5 years and never used it. :(

  7. John--this sounds easy and delicious. Trying this one out next week.

Camey--I'm pretty sure it's the same thing. For someone like me who is severely lacking in the cooking skills dept, it's awesome. You basically just throw a bunch of stuff into the pot w/ seasonings and some liquid, and press "on"--it's like magic.

  8. Bad - Bad day at the office today. I cannot wait to get out of here. May be leaving shortly and finding a good bloody mary. Bad, Bad day. If anyone has connections in the finance/banking/IT/risk/awesomeness industry, hit me up please at rlbashkin@hotmail.com

    On another note:
CHEESECAKE = GOOD! PUDDING = GOOD! Love both and will definitely be trying this concoction out.

If I am not already boozed up - I will be at the box for a good @$$ kicking. Love ya!
