Friday - Another week down...
So after a few weeks in, how is everyone feeling? This usually seems to be the point where most of the crazy cravings stop and crap food tends to look, well, pretty crappy.
After reading your posts yesterday, it seems like most of you are feeling pretty good.
I know I felt pretty horrible post-halloween - at this point anything with bread or sugar in it doesn't really appeal to me at all (minus beer, how can that not be appealing :P). It feels like everything is moving in phases and this is nearly the point of no return. Anyone else feel this way?
Hopefully all of your Friday's go well (and work goes fast). The wod this evening looks freaking brutal and I am absolutely destroyed after last nights, but I'll be there. Oh and sorry I'll be missing the pot-luck tomorrow, but I'll be making some stuff to bring Kristine for you all!
Today (updating as I can)

I don't know whats up, but I can't seem to see any of your guys livestrong links? It just takes me to the main page
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling really good. My saving grace has been the high fat intake, and no fruit. The sugar makes me want more sugar. Apples, in particular make me angry because they literally make me hungry. I can eat one and be hungry 15 minutes later. :p Fat keeps me sane. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree John. I really do feel like I'm at the point of no return. I just feel too good to want to screw this up. However, I won't say I'll never eat a bad carb again.
RE: POTLUCK

As for protein, you should def go for 1g per lb of bodyweight... at least on training days. Protein Shakeeeee! ;)
f-ing post. after reading, i now have a craving for sweets. yet, i have become quite good at quelling these cravings with such sweet paleo treats as almond butter w/ any fruit, paleo pumpkin bread, larabars, or KIND bars.
ReplyDeleteUmmmm....I wouldn't say I have reached the point of no return just yet. I think I could always go for a slice of pizza or some baby back ribs. Don't even get me started on caramel cake! LOL...But alas...I am a fat ass!
ReplyDeleteI began Paleo with the intent of solely making it to the Thanksgiving holidays...challeging myself to see if I could make it plus purging my body in a sense. I know I will make it to Thanksgiving, but now I am wondering about the thereafter. There is no way I am not chomping down on my grannie's southern cooking over the holidays...I'm not even going to front. Besides, every veggie dish (i.e. cabbage, greens, yams, etc) will somehow be made unhealthy as hell by the additions that my fam add in. LOL.
I think that after the holidays I am going to live a more 80%20% Paleo lifestyle. When I started I planned on just stopping post-Turkey day, but I really enjoy the benefits of Paleo. However, there are some foods that I will not fool myself into saying I will never have again, such as cheese, popcorn, a sandwich, etc. I know myself and I think if I remain at 100% I will just start binging every week and a half or so, and that's not good. This is why I plan to find a way to some how balance and track these foods when I do include them. I still have some time to figure it out though:)
OOOOHHHHHH....I measured myself pre-Paleo and I re-measured myself today. Guess who is down 3 inches in the waist, 1 inch in the child-bearing hips, and 1/4 inch in the guns?!! Me that's who! lol. I gained half an inch in the thighs, but I highly doubt it was fat. Seeing my measurements change makes me so happy because lately the scale stopped moving. It went neither up or down, so atleast I know my body IS changing:)
Way to go Kenyatta! I can totally see the difference and have also noticed you are so much stronger in the workouts!! I am like you. I will never be 100% paleo. If I have a craving and don't indulge occasionally, then I have a complete relapse. So I have to let the fat kid inside of me win every once in a while. :)
ReplyDeleteKelsey, I have been wanted to try to pumpkin bread forever! :)
Also, with the livestrong links, you have to include your user name at the end of the link so others can see it. I don't know why it doesn't do it for us.
I am not sure if I will make the WOD today bc I have been having back issues, but I plan on the making up this weekend and I will see you all that the potluck!
Thanks Camey! You have been so encouraging:) Now what can I do to get awesome legs like yours!?! :0)
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what I am bringing to this potluck...I need to figure that out like right now. lol.
I wont make the WOD tonight. I have had events for work all week, so I only made Monday's WOD. I plan on going both Saturday and Sunday to make up for it:)
Now let's see if this link works for Thursday's food log:

I was also triflin' and didn't RSVP. I will figure out something to make, otherwise it's Tequila, a 1lb bag of almonds and coconut milk...smh. jk, hopefully not.
