So, we obviously have discussed all our goals pertaining to the paleo diet thus far (in great detail), which is phenomenal. yet, with this "challenge" winding down (going by LP box schedule), the crossfit total right around the corner, and the time of the year when we all sit back and reflect upon us, I want to know what skills in terms of crossfit you want to improve upon or master by year's end. For me, there are two major ones:
1. butterfly CTBs. while out with derek last nite he stated some of my butterfly pullups were questionable during the WOD yesterday. at first, i was like "how dare you..." (haha), but after that partial lapse in judgement, i realized i never really had anyone tell me if i was clearing the bar with my chin or not. he said the best way to be sure...make em CTBs. thanks derek. clown.
2. get 500m row at or below 1:40. my rowing efficiency has increased immensely. so it is time to stop pacing myself and go "balls out".
what skills do you wish to improve upon/master by year's end...keep it manageable people for all of our suck lists are miles long. i want concrete goals that are attainable.
I'd love to be able to get overhead squats and snatches back, so I suppose my goal is to implement more shoulder therapy through mobility wods and such. I definitely don't do enough and it shows. Seeing these Oly meets come up and knowing I can't enter because I can only do one lift really sucks.
ReplyDeleteI'd also like to overcome my hatred towards the thruster.
1. I have been putting in 4 extra hours a week (for 6 weeks so far)strictly focused on my Press and all fundamental stretching and movements to help me "perfect" it. I am not setting a specific weight but rather perfect form.
ReplyDelete2. I would like to run one mile under 10 minutes (don't laugh please, this running thing is new to me)
3. I turn 29 in 2 1/2 weeks, I thought I could get 3-5 Kippings strung together by then...I am still aiming for that goal
1) I would love to be able to get a strong Kipping.
ReplyDelete2) It would be awesome if I could pull of toe to bar and not merely knees to chest.
3) I am also terrified of climbing up the rope due to my clumsiness, so I want to tackle that hurdle as well.
I think these goals are attainable if I truly focus on them and put in the extra work to make it happen. I stay a little longer and work on pull ups, now I need to do the same for toes to bar and the rope.
1. Strict Pull Up!
ReplyDelete2. Stringing Kipping Pullups!
3. Double Unders in a row (right now I can do double-single-double-single, etc)
1. Squat properly
ReplyDelete2. Do a pull up with a band instead of having to jump
