Had 2 tasty non paleo meals yesterday. French toast at Johnny's Snack Shop (Halsted and Randolph)....super good/cheap. Prime Rib sanwich at Snarf's. I highly recommend Snarfs if you like Potbelly's. it's big in CO. good shit. 600 W. Chicago (actually on Larabee north of Chicago).
Back at strict Paleo! Got to get strong for the Oly meet on Saturday.
Just had some cookie cake left over from Friday. Still tastes great.
Hangovers and weight lifting go hand in hand. In fact, unlike high intensity exercises, lifting became so popular because drunks realized they can do it at the same if not a higher level, so no reason to stop boozing. When you're out of it and your brain isn't functioning, you have to rely entirely on muscle memory and you can't psyche yourself out. It's science.
Wow. We really do sound like we have eating disorders! lol. Today is my first day back on strict Paleo during the week with a couple of cheats over the weekend. Yesterday I was home in STL and I was a BEAST!
I ate this delicious creation from Cracker Barrel that is essentially cinnamon bread dipped in eggs, grilled, drizzled with cream cheese icing and spread with cinnamon paste of some sort....oh and don't forget the dollop of butter. Best cinnamon french toast I have EVER had. Finished that off with a bit of my Dad's pancakes, 2 sausage patties, eggs, grits, AND hot cocoa with whip cream.
For lunch I indulged in 3 hot wings, a Sonic slushy and homemade delicious chili while watching some football. How about I just end it there and not even describe the food I ate on the road back to Chicago.
Needless to say, I am back on it today and I have done great thus far:)
Who will be at the box tonight? 6 or 7pm? I really miss you guys!
Kelsey, you need mint chocolate ship ice cream gum!
I don't even remember what I ate over the weekend. My tummy is actually stretched out. But I am doing much better today. Just fighting the habit of eating w/o thinking.
I honestly see a bit of humor in the sequence of these posts - you are all amazing individuals and we should all not be so hard on ourselves. (I know, so says the girl that completely lost it over putting cheese on her omelet) It's a really difficult time of year to stay on track for everyone - whether it be alcohol, sweets, carbs, dairy, etc. We put our bodies and minds through a serious test this past weekend and I know for me, my body (aka stomach) was expecting some reward. I rewarded it!
PS - My Mom and Sister took me to a show called TRACES yesterday - it was AMAZING! I tried hanging around afterwards to see if any of the cast does CrossFit b/c everything they did was based on strength, flexibility, etc. I highly recommend it - plus you can drink during the show :)
