how'd it go?

did you perform at the xfit total up to your expectations? there is always a divide between our expectations and what really occurs. as i found out yesterday, over a 6 wk span, one cannot expect more than a 3-5% increase in lifts and performance even if eating right and training. with that said, now how do you feel about your performance yesterday?

  1. as you can tell from the post, my lifts didnt go as well as i would have hoped. it just was not my day i guess. Yet, after talking to derek, i achieved what is expected. although, i like to overachieve at everything, ill have to take this one in stride and keep working.

  2. I wasn't terribly pleased w/ my numbers but did PR on all 3 lifts. I fell right in the 3-5% increase range. Can't complain I guess.

Had a blast in general yesterday! good times for sure!

  3. Gains in lifting just take time. As Kurt told me yesterday, if you get enormous gains in a 6 week period, it just means you really sucked the last time you did it.

I added 15 pounds on my squat and 5 pounds on my press, and I was happy with both. Long term, I should be able to continue making gains on my squats, but my press is probably pretty close to the max that my body is capable of handling.

As for 1/2 Cindy, I had it in my head that I was going to push myself as hard as I possibly could and not stop, no matter how painful it got, and I was going to get 14 rounds in doing so. I even planned how I would transition from pull ups to push ups by falling into them, to mark my rounds while in the middle of squats, and jump from a squat right into a pull up. In that respect, it was a success. I do have to say though: I am in some pain today. Far more than either of the last two times I did a 1/2 Cindy, or the Cindy-mod work out we did a week ago where I didn't feel anything the next day. Chest, triceps, forearms, quads are all burning. And this morning, the backs of my hands were even sore. Not the palms, but the backs. WTF? I didn't know that was even possible.

Very happy with result and I will definitely take how hard I was able to push myself into future workouts. But I am seriously destroyed right now...

  4. I'm pretty psyched with the 70# increase I made and don't feel like I sold myself short on anything, but I'm almost positive I can break 1K at some point. Form made all the difference in all three lifts for me.

I'm pretty beat up as well and got a nasty throat thing going on, so you may or may not see me for the next couple days.

  5. Saturday was AMAZING in so many ways - the energy level of the box was crazy! I was so proud to be a part of it.
In all honesty, I came in with a terrible attitude and with encouragement from you all and determination, I was able to do things that I did not think I could. At the end my total went up 66#! MOST shocking and rewarding was 33#increase on my back squat and deadlifting 200#! WHAT?! I do owe a few of you a HUGE THANK YOU for being there with me every step of the way.

  6. Saturday was really awesome! Everyone did so well and so many PR's were made. You guys totally motivated me to get back on track. Since I have been hurt, I haven't been as motivated. So I am going to get back to eating paleo and work on flexibility and anything that doesn't hurt the back.
