Total Time
So the Total final is here - how are you all preparing this evening/tomorrow morning? I know this guy will not be going out and drinking beers, that can wait till after I lift. Well, I will be going out, but to a show and I'm sticking to water. I really want to see if I can bump up these #s tomorrow. I plan on keeping a pretty steady intake of protein from now until then and drinking a ton of water etc.
I know theres a sign up on the board for stuff people are bringing, what are you all thinking?
I can coordinate with Drywall and roll (toss?) a keg in, but I don't know how good of an idea that may be? Thoughts? I can only stay till 2:30 or so, but I'm ready and willing!

i know derek mentioned a 1/2 barrel as well, but was wary about how much people were actually going to drink and such. hence, i signed up to bring a case and i believe tyler said he was going to grab some beer as well.
ReplyDeleteother than that i was going to bring in some fruit as well (bananas, apple, etc.).
as for preparation, enjoyed "jackie" last nite with tyler and mike H. those thrusters were the worst part. you rocked that one John.
now im on my weekly rest day and just going to chill out tonite. maybe a beer or two at dinner and call it. 10am, here i come!
Good deal, I was thinking the same thing - its a lot of beer.

mike H had to of destroyed the thrusters because tyler and i beat him in the row by at least 10 secs and yet he was the first to pull-ups. nice job by him.

I have an open bar holiday party at Cafe Babareeba. This could get ugly.....

ReplyDeleteas for doing thursday's endurance WOD tonite...no go for me. much needed rest day. going to probably make it up on sunday...if im not too hungover.
tyler, best of luck with that gem of a holiday party. you most likely will be in prime form.
p.s. as you can all see, im very enthralled with my experiments today.
I have the day off today and plan to get a LONG run in - trust me, I need it.

As far as the Total, I am PUMPED! Really curious about how my #'s will play out. As far as 1/2 Cindy, I never did it the first time b/c I was just getting back from being really sick so this will be fun!
...I want to toss around a keg....CrossFit Style Keg Stands could be a fun challenge as well...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what I'm bringing, perhaps liquor. Keeping it creative...and non paleo since its my cheat meal. But I would never do anything as bad as Drywall and that fudge lol.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the Total, I just know that my numbers will be better, I feel it in my BONES! I need to eat right today though, meaning more veggies for carbs I think and get a good nights sleep.
I have my company holiday party tonight, so I'll definitely be drinking. I'll show up tomorrow but if things go South tonight, I may be doing my finals on Sunday. In all seriousness, I think the ill-effects of light to moderate drinking on a workout are overstated, I've had some great workouts with mild hangovers and terrible workouts when I made a point to eat right and stay totally sober. You're either ready to kick some ass or you're not.
ReplyDeleteSo no on the keg? My taps aren't going anywhere, so maybe we can do it some other time. It would probably be better suited for when we have a drinking WOD / happy hour when we're all going at the same time and/or hosting others, and not a staggered start where some people will be leaving before others even start.
Forgot to mention, yes, I said taps, plural. My sister got me the Ubertap a few birthdays ago:

3 taps in one. Would have been nice to have when I was 22 and throwing keggers more often. I also have a more standard tap that I "acquired" many years ago.
i agree with drywall...it may be better suited when everyone is not staggered. and a party at the WL location would be ideal for drinking games...so much space!

AM - 3 chicken sausage
Snack - Grass Fed Jerky
PM - Wings & Broccoli
1c tea w/coconut oil
1c tea w/heavey whipping cream and stevia
I'm so effing sad that I wont be there tomorrow:( Sounds like you guys are going to have an AWESOME time! I will make up for it at the Holiday party! Although I do not plan on a repeat of my Halloween wasted-ness. lol. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! I think I will do the Challenge next weekend...

ReplyDeleteRae.. I am right with you regarding food. I can't seem to get back on track. I think part of it is I'm sad I can't workout so I eat instead. Ugh! But I am trying to get back to eating healthier because I know I feel better. I think I will start posting my food intake here since I haven't been keeping up w/ Livestrong.
Today so far:
Breakfast - 2 egg omelet w tomato and turkey sausage, tea w almond milk
Lunch - Chipolte Chicken salad w/ tomatoes and salsa, 1/2 a piece of pizza (It was free so I didn't say no.)
Snacks - Mint M&M's, Beef Jerkey, Larabar
drywall, that tapper is legit. kudos for having such a cool toy as such an old man.
